Gold is heavy. Its supply grows by roughly two percent a year, it cannot be overclocked, and no datacenter has ever bid up the price of bullion to train a frontier model.
Memory is different. Wafer starts are finite, AI accelerators consume every advanced-node allocation years in advance, and the consumer channel has been formally abandoned by its largest supplier. The result is the first monetary asset whose scarcity is enforced not by geology but by capital expenditure.
The Authority holds unhedged DRAM inventory against every note in circulation. When you hold a RAMBACK, you hold a claim on the scarcest resource of the intelligence age: addressable capacity, printed in denominations you can actually spend.

Is RAMBACK legal tender?
RAMBACKs are a voluntary private currency, accepted at negotiated rates in the same manner as other capacity- and metal-backed notes. The Authority makes no legal-tender claim, and asks that you stop sending it letters about this.
What happens to my net worth in a power outage?
The value persists. Only the memory is volatile. Denominations are printed on the face of each note and require no power to retain.
Can I use RAMBACKs as system memory?
Yes, with the RAMBACK Memory Sleeve, included with Sovereign-tier backing and above. Seat the sleeved note in any compatible DIMM slot and POST. Your bankroll appears as system memory.
Is the price of memory guaranteed to rise forever?
No currency can guarantee appreciation. The Authority maintains a firm commitment to number go up.
What is the exchange rate?
One gigabyte is one gigabyte. The Authority pegs every note to face capacity. Indicative market rates are published above for depositors who insist on denominating value in older currencies.
Is RAMBACK a security?
RAMBACKs are denominated in gigabytes. Gigabytes are not presently regulated by the Commission.
